The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction

This source discusses the background of photography and lithography. I also noticed it is a scholarly source as well. They seem to contrast the two by comparing the two mediums. A point the argument makes is that reproductions lack one key element that the original possess's, its presence in time and its unique existence. Some people may say anything other but the original piece of work is a rip off of it. The author goes into depth talking about human senses through history and different periods.  I feel in a mechanical age there tends to be a fine line of what is art and what is just a product for a consumer to buy.

American sugar sale article response

The article discusses the advertising the sales of large companies sugar/snacks sales, for example limited edition pop-tarts. I feel no matter how much money and advertising is put into it is probable that it won't change the way American's diet/consume sugar. It does not have to necessarily be bad thing because everyone has different eating habits and looks on the food industry. Personally I feel as being a college student there is more of a movement to try to eat healthy to occasionally indulge and treat yourself to a sweet is not a bad thing. I often try to drink more water then I do soda because That in itself is really not good for you if consumed on the daily.
